Game On! Sunday, June 30th at 2pm

The 2nd Annual Sweet Doubles and Singles Table Tennis Tournament was a blast! We had 15 talented athletes competing. Next year I would love some suggestions on how to improve the tournament, as it is new to me. Do you create a plaque? Chip in for prizes? Give me some ideas to make this even more fun.


And the 2024 Winner is...

To start the day, names were drawn from the hat and Martin Sweet/Nathan Wahl squared up against Manas Kshirsagar and Imran Safiulla in the Semi-Finals, both being undefeated up to that point. Sweet/Wahl won the match. In the loser bracket, Joerg Heilig and Matt Rice lost their first match and proceeded to climb back into the finals where they matched up against Sweet/Wahl and lost in a valiant effort.


In the singles, Joerg Heilig and Martin Sweet faced each other again in the finals and this time Heilig got the best of Sweet in 3 straight games with some epic rallies.


We will run it back again at the end of June next year, so spread the word. Also, for those of you who want to get to the next level, I strongly suggest:

They meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-9pm for $5 your game will elevate, no doubt.





This year we will have 3 tables side by side! We will all be playing together simultaneously at the common grass area near guest parking.

2nd Annual Sweet Table Tennis Tournament Details


*In doubles, you have to alternate who hits the ball every shot.



*Matches will be best of 3 games to 11 switching sides after each game. You switch servers every two points. The server always starts on the right side so you switch after you are done serving.


*If the game goes to 10 (deuce), switch after every serve. Win by two pts.


*The Doubles tournament will kick off the day. Like last year, all of our names will be placed into hats to draw partners. The tournament is double elimination. This will be followed by a food and beverage break and Beer-Pong interlude. Next, we will fill out the singles bracket and begin a singles/single elimination tournament, for those interested.
